Over the past eight years, it has been an honour to serve our community on Coquitlam City Council. During that time, I've worked to listen, learn, and make thoughtful decisions that reflect the needs of our residents while helping guide our city's growth.
As I seek re-election this October, I'm looking forward to sharing more about what we've accomplished together, the lessons I've learned, and my vision for Coquitlam's future.

ABOUT STEVE KIM
Steve Kim is honoured to serve the residents of Coquitlam as a City Councillor and is proud to call Coquitlam home.
A long-term resident, entrepreneur, and community leader, Steve has spent his career bringing people together, building partnerships, and serving the community he loves. His approach to leadership is rooted in listening, collaboration, and making thoughtful decisions that reflect the long-term interests of residents.
In addition to serving on City Council, over the past two years Steve has served as the Executive Director of a local charitable organization that has been supporting vulnerable and at-risk youth since 1993. In this role, he works alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, community partners and schools to help young people and families access the support they need to thrive. This experience has strengthened his understanding of the challenges facing our community and reinforced the importance of prevention, compassion, and strong community partnerships.
Before being elected to Council, Steve built a career in business, communications, and marketing, helping small businesses grow, connect with their communities, and navigate change. He has worked with tech start-ups, growth-stage businesses, non-profit organizations and professional associations clients throughout British Columbia.
Steve has always believed that strong communities are built through service. Over the years, he has volunteered with numerous local organizations and community initiatives, giving back to the city that has given so much to him and his family.
As a member of Coquitlam City Council, Steve is committed to thoughtful planning, responsible financial management, supporting local businesses, protecting our parks and natural environment, expanding housing choices, investing in transportation and community infrastructure, and ensuring Coquitlam remains a safe, welcoming, and inclusive city for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Steve believes the best decisions are made by listening first, respecting different perspectives, and working together to find practical solutions. He remains committed to serving with integrity, transparency, and a genuine desire to help build an even stronger Coquitlam for future generations.
